Winbox Sports Betting

How the sportsbook in the Winbox MY lobby works, what the common bet types mean, and how to keep your betting in check.

What Winbox sports betting is

Winbox sports betting is the sportsbook section of the Winbox MY lobby. You bet on the outcome of real matches, such as football and basketball, using your account balance. Each match has markets, like who wins or how many goals, and each outcome has a price.

You can bet before a match starts (pre-match) or, where the sportsbook offers it, while it is being played (live or in-play). Live prices change often. What is open depends on the sporting calendar, so check the lobby.

How a bet slip works

Illustration Not a real match, price or result.

Tap a price to add it to your slip, enter a stake, check the possible return and confirm. In decimal format the return is stake × price, including your stake.

Common bet types, explained

Using football as the example. Each market’s own rules in the sportsbook take priority.

  • 1X2 (match result)

Pick the full-time result: 1 home win, X draw, 2 away win. It is the simplest market.

  • Handicap

One team gets a goal head start on paper to even out the match, which takes the draw away. With -0.5, your team must win. With +0.5, a draw is enough. Quarter lines such as -0.25 split your stake across two lines, so you can win or lose half.

  • Over/under

Bet on whether the total goals will be over or under a line, such as 2.5. With 2.5, three or more goals is over, and two or fewer is under. It does not matter who scores.

  • Mix parlay

Several selections joined into one bet. The prices multiply, so the possible return grows, but every selection has to win. One loss and the whole parlay loses.

  • Other markets

You may also see correct score, odd/even and first-half markets. Read the name carefully: “first half” and “full time” settle on different parts of the game.

Reading the prices

Decimal is the easiest format: the number is what you get back for each RM1 staked, including the stake. You may also see Malay, Hong Kong or Indonesian formats, which show the same price differently. If there is an odds format setting, pick the one you understand and keep it.

A lower price means the sportsbook sees that outcome as more likely, and it pays less. A higher price pays more but is less likely. Prices are not a promise about the result.

How to place a sports bet

The same order works on H5 and in the app.

  1. Log in to Winbox

Open Winbox and log in with your own details. Your bets come from your account balance.

  2. Open Sports

In the lobby, tap Sports to open the sportsbook. Choose a sport, then a league or a match.

  3. Add a selection

Tap the price of the outcome you want, such as a team to win or over a goal line. It goes onto your bet slip.

  4. Check and confirm

Enter your stake in RM, check the possible return on the slip, then confirm. Your open bets and settled bets are listed in the bet history.

Keep it fun

Bet only with money you can afford to lose. Set a budget for the match day, and never chase a loss with a bigger bet. Take care with live betting, where prices move fast. Betting on your own team can cloud your judgement, so keep those stakes small.

Winbox sports betting questions

Short answers for this part of the lobby.

What does a handicap of -0.5 mean?

The team you back starts with a half-goal deficit. They have to win the match by at least one goal for your bet to win. A draw or a loss means the bet loses.

Why did the odds change before I confirmed my bet?

Prices move as news comes in and as the match goes on, especially in live betting. If the price changes, the bet slip will usually ask you to accept the new price before the bet goes through.

What is a mix parlay?

A mix parlay joins several selections into one bet. The prices multiply together, so the possible return is bigger, but every selection has to win. If one loses, the whole bet loses.

Where can I see my open bets?

Open the bet list or statement inside the sportsbook. It shows bets that are still running and those that have settled, with the stake and the result.
